This Privacy Policy explains how EngCore ("EngCore", "we", "us", "our"), the online learning platform available at https://engcore.org (the "Platform"), collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you visit the Platform, create an account, enroll in courses, watch recorded or live lectures, take quizzes, or make payments. By using the Platform you agree to this Policy.

1. Who We Are

EngCore is an educational platform for university students, offering recorded courses, live lectures, study materials and quizzes. For any privacy question you can contact us at engcorebusiness@gmail.com.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: your full name, email address, mobile phone number, university, occupation or study field, and a password (stored only as a one-way cryptographic hash, never in plain text).
• Google Sign-In information: if you choose "Continue with Google" on the registration page, we receive your Google account email address, your name, and your profile picture URL from Google. We do not receive your Google password and we do not access your Gmail, Drive, contacts, calendar or any other Google data.
• Learning activity: courses and bundles you enroll in, lecture progress and video views, quiz attempts and answers, ratings and reviews, questions you ask, wishlists, and referral activity.
• Payment information: the amount, date, method and status of your transactions, wallet balance and wallet history, and any payment receipt image you upload as proof of a manual transfer. When you pay online, card or wallet details are entered on our payment provider's secure page and are not stored on our servers.
• Device and technical information: a device identifier and device type used to protect your account (see Section 5), IP address, browser type, operating system, language, and basic usage and error logs.
• Notification data: your notification preferences, and a web-push subscription if you allow browser notifications.
• Communications: messages you send to our support team.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account, and to verify your email address when you register with Google.
• To provide the Platform: grant access to purchased courses, stream lectures, run live sessions, grade quizzes and track your progress.
• To process payments, wallet balances, refunds and referral rewards.
• To send service messages such as enrollment confirmations, payment status, password-reset emails, live-lecture reminders and announcements, by email, WhatsApp or web push, according to your preferences.
• To protect the Platform and our instructors' content: detect account sharing, fraud, abuse and unauthorized copying or redistribution.
• To improve the Platform, fix errors and understand how features are used.
• To comply with legal obligations and to enforce our Terms & Conditions.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Google User Data

We use Google Sign-In only to let you register with a verified email address. From Google we use only your email address, name and profile picture, and only to pre-fill and verify your registration form and to create your EngCore account. We do not transfer this data to others except as described in this Policy, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read it except with your consent, for security purposes, or to comply with the law. EngCore's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can stop using Google Sign-In at any time and register manually, and you can ask us to delete your account and data as described in Section 9.

5. Device Protection

To prevent account sharing, we link your account to a limited number of devices. We store a random device identifier generated by the Platform, the device type and the time of last use. This information is used only for account security and support.

6. Who We Share Information With

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Platform, and only as needed for their service:

• Google (Google Identity Services) for the sign-in option.
• OPay, for processing online payments.
• Bunny.net, for secure video hosting and streaming.
• LiveKit, for live lecture sessions.
• Email, WhatsApp and web-push providers, for delivering notifications and password-reset messages.
• Our hosting and infrastructure providers.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, to protect our rights, users or the public, or in connection with a merger or sale of the business. Your name may be visible to instructors and administrators of the courses you join, and to other participants if you ask questions or post reviews.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and your browser's local storage to keep you signed in, remember your language and theme, store a referral code if you arrived through a referral link, and keep the Platform working securely. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear this data from your browser settings, but parts of the Platform may stop working.

8. Data Security and Retention

We protect your data using encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and secure third-party services. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep your information while your account is active and as long as needed to provide the service, keep financial and security records, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. After that we delete or anonymize it.

9. Your Rights and Choices

You can view and update your name, phone number and other profile details from your account page. You can change notification preferences or switch off browser notifications at any time. You can request a copy of your data, correction, or deletion of your account and personal data by emailing engcorebusiness@gmail.com from your registered email; we will respond within a reasonable time, and we may keep limited records where the law requires. You can also revoke EngCore's access from your Google Account settings at any time.

10. Children

The Platform is intended for university and adult learners. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International Processing

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected wherever it is processed.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The latest version is always available at https://engcore.org/privacy with its effective date. Significant changes will be announced on the Platform.
